THE BEST TIME TO TRAVEL TO AMSTERDAM

April to May

Dutch meteorological spring actually begins in quite a whimsical manner. Indeed, the Dutch go even as far as saying that “April does what it wants” – literally, “April doet wat het wil”. The first day of April can bring quite extreme temperatures in the shapes of ups and downs. They go from sweating to shivering asking for a cocoa, in what looks like a span of five minutes. Fortunately, the weather improving towards the end of the month does make things a little better. It is now officially possible to celebrate the King’s Day – a new public holiday which is the 27th. They enjoy it through music festivals, canal parades, and fabulous open air markets.

June to August

Indeed, anyone who wants days that never end should sample the summer of the Netherlands. As for lights, people seldom go to bed before midnight because the sun can go down only around 10 p.M. Now is the best time to open up the country’s fine and sunny beaches. But remember come July, everyone’s here on holidays the tourists to be precise are here as everyone is out to enjoy the warm weather. Who would not want to have a laid back day walking through the canal system and having a beer in one of the countless bars? Amsterdam is mainly crowded during the summer times.

September to October

As a matter of fact, it is perhaps one of the best times to plan for a tour in the country specifically in the Amsterdam. For instance, the town of Zundert hosts the internationally famous flower parade. Another event taking place in the later part of September is the Dam to Damloop, a 10 mile road race in Amsterdam where participants in thousands who are athletes turn up to compete. Fellow lovers of music can satisfy their appetite at one of the largest electronic dance music festival in the world, the Amsterdam Dance Event in October. What is more, officially registered clubs and bars, as well as other venues all over the city.
